I’m a Strategic Marketing professional and Brand Ambassador with 20+ years of B2B and B2C experience collaborating with owners, C-Suite, internal business units and agencies to lead successful marketing programs, improve brand affinity, and increase sales and referrals. I manage multi-disciplinary plans solo or with teams to deliver effective results on-time, within budget and with high satisfaction rates.
I’ve honed my skills in industries such as Entertainment, Hospitality, Real Estate Development, Insurance and Financial Services, Health Care, Publishing, Human Services, and Education and would love to include yours.
My background
I am a Buffalo native who lived through the Blizzard of ‘77 as a child. My father’s job relocated us to rural Connecticut where I grew up. I attended Springfield College in Massachusetts (Go Pride!) where I was editor of the student newspaper, played Division 1 Field Hockey, and learned how to live the Humanics philosophy of Spirit, Mind and Body.
My dream job was to be a journalist. However, my first job was as an entry level editor at an accounting trade magazine—two hours away in Manhattan. I spent 20 hours a week on a Greyhound for nine months. When I mentor young professionals, I tell them that story so they know that they will survive the “commute” from Clarence to Buffalo.
I was fortunate to obtain a job as a journalist in my Connecticut hometown, fueling my desire to learn, ask questions, see all sides of an issue, and write and edit at a high level. I parlayed my career into public relations and then corporate communications work when I moved back to Buffalo in 2002. I began advising on tactics to meet business strategies and worked with VPs of Marketing, Sales, Operations and Human Resources. Many times, if the company I worked for did not have a business plan or marketing strategy, then I created them in tandem with leadership.
